Dr. Roos research interests include the use of administrative data for managing the health care system, and the relationship between health care use and population health. Her main area of research has focused on child health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on the social determinants of health. She has been working with community groups, business and government to bring research on At-Risk kids to the policy table. She is a Member of the United Way of Winnipeg Board of Trustees, the Winnipeg Poverty Reduction Council (Strengthening the Core Working Group), the Point Douglas/Lord Selkirk Park Project Advisory Board, and the Provincial Health Child Advisory Committee, Healthy Child Manitoba. She was recently awarded a CIHR grant aimed at improving the use of research evidence by the media in their coverage of key health policy issues, and created EvidenceNetwork.ca, an evolving Canadian healthcare resource designed with the needs of journalists in mind.
