Research Focus:

  1. Clinical research in pediatric stroke through collaboration with international and national pediatric stroke networks.
  2. Clinical research in some specific pediatric neurological disorders in children and adolescents, in particular Rett syndrome, Septo-optic dysplasia, neonatal seizures, and childhood epilepsies.
  3. I am currently actively involved in the following research projects:
    1. Posterior circulation ischemic strokes in Manitoban children: A longitudinal study of clinical presentation and outcome.
    2. Evaluation of delays in the diagnosis of pediatric ischemic stroke.
    3. Population based study of children with Rett syndrome in Manitoba and phenotypic and genotypic correlation of MECP2 mutation.
    4. Neonatal seizures and their outcome.
    5. Clinical and neuroimaging spectrum of Septo-Optic Dysplasia in Manitoban children.
