Current Position

Medical Lead for the Clinical Research Unit (CHRIM); Clinical Scientist at CHRIM; Academic Paediatrician and Clinical Pharmacologist at the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital; Assistant Professor of Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Pharmacology at the U of M

History

CHRIM and the department of Paediatrics & Child Health provided me with an excellent opportunity for a combination of the clinical work as a paediatrician and the means and support to conduct clinical research in paediatrics, and specifically in children with obesity and/or diabetes, looking at the effects of these diseases and genetics on medication use, and the use of innovative therapies for the prevention and treatment of these conditions and diseases. After my first Canadian experience at SickKids in Toronto, I looked around for jobs in Canada. The opportunities and scale of CHRIM and the University of Manitoba, and the inspiring workplace and colleagues were unparalleled, and greatly contributed to my decision to join forces with the DREAM theme and CHRIM.
