A leading contributor of science and knowledge through discoveries.

Overview

The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba s facilities include both clinical and basic research space, bringing together clinicians and basic scientists in a common work environment. The space is designed to facilitate the bench to bedside approach in medical research, allowing for the important translational research that can bring discoveries made at the lab bench into clinical practice.

State-of-the-art, large, open lab spaces encourages collaboration, cross-over, and team building between disciplines and provides an environment ideally suited to working within multidisciplinary themes. Researchers work side-by-side without division, and their close physical proximity provides for a flow of information and knowledge sharing that would otherwise not have been possible. Unique and innovative partnerships are the result and provide our scientists with the opportunity to explore and unlock the mysteries of child health in ways that would have previously been impossible.

Shared procedural rooms and common spaces give scientists the ability to use equipment to which they might otherwise not have access. This efficient use of equipment allows scientists to work at the cutting edge of their disciplines and to advance their research projects as rapidly as possible.
