Next generation sequence data analysis is a time consuming task requiring expertise and computing resources in order to identify meaningful information from large high-throughput sequence data. The salary of the bioinformatician and the cost of the NGS platform resources are currently covered  by our sponsoring agencies for a  period of five years from 2012 to 2017. However, we will charge a service fee for bioinformatics analysis to cover the occasional cost of new software packages, computer upgrades, data storage, training costs and office supplies.

Service charge structure. The bioinformatics service charge will vary by the affiliation of the researcher, application category, and extent of analysis:

  1. Standard data analysis: Sequence data quality inspection, providing data information such as read number, coverage, mapping rate, mapping on reference genome, as well as:

RNA-seq: profiling

ChIP-seq: peak calls

DNA-seq: snp calls

miRNA-seq: profiling

Methylation: methylation calls

a). Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba, MICB,  College of Medicine researchers:  project charge

RNA-seq: $ 100 for 1st sample, $30 additional samples

ChIP-seq: $ 120 for 1st sample, $40 additional samples

DNA-seq: $ 120 for 1st sample, $40 additional samples

miRNA-seq: $ 140 for 1st sample, $45 additional samples

Methylation DNA-seq: $ 160 for 1st sample, $50 additional samples

b). Manitoba Academic researchers (other than University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine):

RNA-seq: $ 120 for 1st sample, $40 additional samples

ChIP-seq: $ 150 for 1st sample, $50 additional samples

DNA-seq: $ 150 for 1st sample, $50 additional samples

miRNA-seq: $ 180 for 1st sample, $60 additional samples

Methylation DNA-seq: $ 200 for 1st sample, $65 additional samples

c). Academic researchers outside of Manitoba universities:

d). Non academic researchers:

  1. Comprehensive data analysis:  statistics analysis, RNA splicing, peak annotation, publication quality visualization, gene function analysis (pathway, gene ontology), motif prediction, miRNA target analysis, genome assembly, etc.  Analysis will billed on a hourly rate.

RNA-seq: differential expression statistics, pathway, gene ontology, splicing, imprinting

ChIP-seq: peak annotation, peak differential comparison, visualization

miRNA-seq: differential expression statistics, target genes, pathways, visualization, other small RNA analysis, novel miRNA prediction, etc

DNA-seq: genotyping, GWA, etc

Methylation: Identifying differentially methylated regions, differential in DNA methylation, etc
