A leading contributor of science and knowledge through discoveries.
It is an honor to be the CEO & Scientific Director at the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. Since I started in September 2010, the energy and excitement of working here has been contagious. I have enjoyed meeting with the researchers and staff at research rounds and other social functions. I look forward to tremendous growth and expansion over the next 5 years.
The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba sponsors a number of events each year, including weekly research rounds (with lunch provided). We have an annual Child Health Research Day every October, featuring a key theme in child health. We are also hosts of the Annual National Pediatric Resident and Fellow Research competition.
As a member you may have an opportunity to apply for grants or studentships or take advantage of our ever expanding set of core services.
Membership comes with responsibilities and we do expect our members to participate in our activities and volunteer for committees to help ensure a smooth function of our institute. Additionally, it is critically important that we receive an annual report of your research activities, grants and publications. We need members to actively indicate their ongoing interest by renewing their memberships annually.
Together we can address the key health issues facing mothers, children and youth through high quality research. It will take the whole spectrum of research from the molecule to the person to the community, both quantitative and qualitative. I look forward to working with you as a member of our outstanding research institute. Please don’t hesitate to call or email at any time. Our website is www.chrim.ca and you can also follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
