Pediatric Grand Rounds
Newborn Screening for Immunodeficiency in Manitoba
Objectives:
1) Define SCID and CID, and delineate the burden of primary
immunodeficiency in Manitoba.
2) Describe the development of the SCID/CID newborn screening
program in Manitoba.
3) Provide an update on the outcomes of the first 2.5 years of
SCID/CID screening in Manitoba
4) Describe how hematopoietic cell transplant outcomes are
improved in infants diagnosed with SCID/CID via newborn
screening
