The Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba

The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba is owned by the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. The Institute reports to the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba s Board of Directors. The Institute has a core administrative staff that manage the day to day operations.

The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba is a membership organization that encourages researchers affiliated with any Manitoba University, focused on child health care concerns to be a part of the Institute. Currently, all of the Institute researchers are affiliated with the University of Manitoba and/or the Children’s Hospital-HSC Winnipeg.

Established in 1971, the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba (CHF) is an independent agency whose purpose is to raise and distribute funds for the advancement of knowledge and care in the fields of child health care and child health research.

In 2001, the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba established the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba to bring together researchers with a common priority of unlocking the mysteries of childhood disease. The goal of the Institute is to be a centre of excellence in pediatric research attracting world-class researchers to Manitoba contributing to the overall health of the provincial economy. Each year, the Foundation provides over $3 million to the Institute for research grants and personnel awards in aid of research and for infrastructure support to operate the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba. Since its inception the Children’s Hospital Foundation is committed to fostering a world-class research environment here in Manitoba.
